Soleurs – Sunglasses Illustrations

March 13, 2016

If your anything like me I dred trying on sunglasses and drawing attention to my round round face. This is why I jumped on the illustration project for Soleurs, a new sunglasses brand. They have developed a tool on their website called ‘face guide’ where they show you which of their sunglasses will suit your face shape – genius!

As apart of the project I sketched four female and male face shapes and sunglasses to illustrate their guide. It’s a little bit of fun in the online shopping world and you can check out the page here: http://soleurs.com/face-shape-guide/ They also have a ‘fitting room’ section where you can take a photo of your own face with your webcam and virtually try on different pairs.. the future is here!

Sunset, Stars, Sunrise – Sefton Bivvy – NZ

February 23, 2016

You can’t ask for a better overnight hike than what we got climbing up to Sefton Bivvy. The Biv is located just a stones throw away from the popular Mueller Hut in the Hooker Valley in Mount Cook National Park but few people know about it. The route is unmarked and a bit sketchy in places, but once you get up to that perfect orange roof nestled under the glaciers it all fades away. We headed up late in the afternoon to avoid the stinging New Zealand midday sun. It took us 3 hours to climb up and our first views of the hut faded in and out with the dense clouds sweeping past. As night fell we were still surrounded by clouds and decided to dream the views we couldn’t see. At 1am our sleep broke to see stars covering the little window above our head. As we ran out with headlamps we could see the clouds had dropped low into the valley revealing the mountains and glaciers surrounding us. We photographed the stars until the sun came up and continued to shoot through the early light. If your visiting New Zealand this is a hut not to be missed.  You’ll most likely have the little wooden floor to yourself, just don’t forget a matt!

Rekinspire – T – Love

February 23, 2016

It’s so amazing when I get approached by likeminded people to collaborate on a project. Especially when that project involves me getting my pencils out and doing what I love. Late last year I was lucky enough to collaborate with the young brand Rekinspire, a small screen printing studio giving back to the environment through their beautiful T-shirt designs. I was asked to design a T that inspired outdoor recreation and inspired people to reconnect with their environment.  The proceeds went to the Conservation Corps who maintain trails, create trails and clears river ways for paddlers. You can see what I came up with below and can find out what Rekinspire are up to on there website: http://www.rekinspire.com.

Canadian Adventures – Mt Robson

February 18, 2016

Over the past two years I have been lucky enough to migrate north during the winter to explore the Canadian Mountains. Last summer we had the chance to hike up to Berg Lake at the base of Mt Robson, the largest mountain in the Canadian Rockies. We spent 3 days exploring the glaciers and surrounding mountains from our base camp at the milky blue lake. Mt Robson dominates the sky with its ice packed rivers flowing down its many sides. I was shocked to find out crazy people ski down the glaciers during winter! These are a few of my favourite shots from the trip, enjoy!

Beginnings…

January 23, 2016

Oh hey friends! Im starting a Blog and I would love for you to follow along.

I’m a compulsive creator, I draw, I photograph and I play. All this stuff just lies around on my computer and its time to give it a home and set it free into the big internet world.
I’m not a writer but sometimes you just have to step outside of you comfort zone to push your work forward. Over the next little while I will be posting old and new projects, adventures and other fun things to get this space alive. So lets kick this thing off with a handful of birds I drew for a tattoo commission a few months back.
